Are You Listening?
Are you listening?
I'm pouring my heart out,
`cause I can't keep it all inside.
This is my life I'm sharing,
My Hopes.
My dreams.
I'm telling you my darkest secrets.
Are you listening?
I see it crumbling all around me
Who knew the castle was made of sand?
I have to be strong for her
But where do I turn to?
No one ever saw me.
I guess I got lost in the crowd.
I kept my mouth shut
Trying to keep things even.
And now I shout to be heard.
Are you listening?
I never told a soul
About all the silent whispers.
It just sort of swirled inside
And now I just can't hide.
So I want to know
If maybe you saw me,
If only for a second.
If maybe you heard me,
As I cried myself to sleep.
If maybe you want to know me,
Even if I don't know myself.
Not all questions can be answered,
I've gotten used to that.
But sometimes you need an answer,
To stop the shrieking silence.
I can live with a thousand questions,
But this I've got to know,
Are you listening?
